A gender, age and race specific data analysis of the cardiovascular
serviceline has historically been beneficial in
business planning as well as carving out gender specific
research and grant opportunities.
Based on years of experience, Making A Difference:
Heart-To-Heart has developed a set of template reports
that can be implemented to extract this information
from your current data. This template set along with expertise
and guidance in how best to extract this information
from data systems is delivered to the client for
data retrieval. The extracted data is then analyzed by
Making A Difference: Heart-To-Heart and returned to
the client in report and graphic form. These sets of reports
and graphs reveal gender, age and race specific
trends related to DRGs, procedures and profitability patterns.
Recommendations for next steps are provided
with a summary of the principal points analyzed.
Once the template sets are in place, they become an effective
way to track the benefits of a women's cardiovascular
program and gender specific serviceline to the
hospital, practice, patient population and community.

The End Result:

Ages 55-59 Females - The most underserved population
A gender and age analysis of leading heart centers today unveils
and identifies an underserved population--the high risk peri/postmenopausal
female. This analysis provides the opportunity to address
and research this high risk group to improve clinical and financial
outcomes through early targeted risk identification and
intervention.
In the cardiovascular serviceline, each hospital will have a unique
pattern of patient demographics when analyzed by gender and
age. This type of analysis will uncover hidden opportunities for clinical
and financial improvement that might otherwise be masked if
analyzed only as the "whole serviceline".
